History of the parish

Beaumont Parish

Established in 1978 from Donnycarney Parish, the Church of the Nativity of Our Lord together with St. Fiachra’s Junior and Senior National Schools are situated on land kindly donated by the Sisters of Mercy. The Parish Pastoral Centre was opened in 1996.

Beaumont is part of the group of parishes comprising Whitehall/Larkhill, Beaumont and Kilmore West.

As well as Sundays, Mass is offered during the week (Monday to Saturday), usually at 10am.  Beaumont Parish also offers a range of other pastoral services such as Baptism, First Holy Communion, Confirmation, weddings, and funerals.  Preparation for these sacraments and occasions is available both from the priests of the parish and several specialist pastoral teams, operated by voluntary lay parishioners.  These include a Baptism Team, Funeral Team and Faith Formation Team.

We have a Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) which identifies the pastoral needs of the parish community and assists in planning and coordinating pastoral programmes and initiatives.  This is done both within the parish itself and in cooperation with the other PPCs in our parish grouping with whom we work closely.

The Parish Finance Committee is concerned with management of parish finances, fundraising and maintenance of parish property and other resources.

Beaumont Parish subscribes and adheres to the Child and Vulnerable Adult Policy of the Dublin Archdiocese.

Our Parish is home to five schools:

  • Beaumont Community Pre-School
  • St Fiachra’s Junior National School
  • St Fiachra’s Senior National School
  • St Paul’s Special School
  • Our Lady of Mercy College.
